Limestone Rd. remains closed this morning following a tractor trailer accident yesterday. A tractor trailer hauling a load of charcoal made a failed attempt to traverse the windy single lane road resulting in a rollover. At this time it's apparent both the driver and a female passenger suffered injuries in the accident the extent of which is unknown.
It's unclear at this time if the instance in question was due to GPS navigation or simple driver error however, it wouldn't be the first time such a GPS route has brought a semi on to the windy single lane country road. A second tractor trailer was sent up to the wreck to offload cargo by hand prior to attempting a salvage operation on the rig with work at this time still ongoing.
Limestone Rd. isn't the only roadway to fall victim to this as Sugarlands, 72 past Hendricks, the dirt and gravel government road on the backside of Quality Hill, and many other small roadways have all had wreckers sent to them in recent years to rescue a lost big rig from peril.
I'd like to wish those injured a speedy recovery and the residents of Limestone a speedy cleanup as they find alternative routes to make it to and from work.
