There's no denying that religion has and still does play a major part in daily life in Tucker County. The county is home to several churches of all denominations and the town of Hendricks originally even shared it's name with the biblical Eden.
The many churches located around the county regardless of denomination each continue to teach a message of love, hope, peace, and togetherness while aiding the community by helping those less fortunate. An abundance of churches in our area directly relates to an abundance of local events such as cake walks, dinners, food/toy drives, yard sales, and more that often benefit those less fortunate in the community.
While everyone doesn't go to church everyone is always welcome to attend and if you find yourself in troubled times the churches are always the first ones to reach out a hand and help you get back on your feet with programs like Celebrate Recovery and just plain good old fashioned generosity.
Like many of the residents I appreciate the work being done by the churches both independently and jointly with other local organizations as having been at one time in need myself I've experienced their generosity first hand.
