Hook, Line, and Sinker

One of the activities me and the wife enjoy doing is going Trout fishing in our spare time. Usually we can be found at one spot or another catching some fish, goofing off, and relaxing a little by the river. What can I say I'm just a country boy and she got me hook, line, and sinker.
Even with more goofing off than fishing going on we usually catch something she cleans them up and I throw them on the grill when we get back. Being her husband means I annoy her quite a bit because some fishing trips we never even make it to the river we end up lost on dirt roads in the Jeep seeing parts of West Virginia that I'm pretty sure only God knows exist.

On the days we do manage to find our way to a fishable body of water we spend plenty of time watching the kids as they do their best to reel in the big ones usually falling short of the river monster they're looking for but they have fun none the less. For the adults the trip is spent replacing lost worms, stringing broken lines, and trying to keep the kids from turning the fishing trip into a swimming trip by "accidentally" falling into the water.
Growing up I remember those fishing trips with my dad tossing out a line and spending a good bit of the day walking a river bank never really catching much but enjoying our time out walking anyhow. Much to his dismay I often turned fishing trips into swimming trips. For child and adult alike nothing can beat the rush of having a fish on fighting while you reel it in to find out what kind it is and how big it is. You know it's going to be exaggerated either way but fishing brings the family together and makes memories that will last a lifetime while teaching skills that will likely be handed down from generation to generation.
