Keeping a city running smoothly isn't an easy job it takes a lot of hard work and dedicated workers to maintain the systems that cater to the many services necessary to make life comfortable for local residents. You may not think about running water, working sewage, trash removal, or plowed roadways until you don't have them but our city workers always have your back ready to spring into action on a moments notice to solve any issues that arise.

That was the case last night when a water main break on First Street in Parsons was found prompting the City of Parsons Facebook Page to post the following statement "We received and confirmed that we have a break in our main water line on First Street (US Route 219) near Mountain Valley Bank. All customers without water in Ward Two area is asked to please be patient as we work to resolve this as quickly as possible. Estimated time of restoration is unknown. Please follow this post for any updates."

Local law enforcement handled traffic control as city workers carried out repairs to the main line working well into the night in a valiant attempt to quickly restore water to ward two in Parsons with work once more continuing this morning on the water issues. While you don't see them everyday and for some you may not even realize they're there we appreciate them and wish to say thanks to all those utility, maintenance, law enforcement, firefighters, and city workers who keep the water flowing, the lights on, and continue to provide the comfort we enjoy in our daily lives.
